So last week I found myself doing something that surprised even ME--I colored my own hair.
Since many of you might be in the same boat soon, I thought it would be fun to take you through my process.
To get the right color, I reached out to my former stylist, for the color number and directions to apply it. She recommend that I place a curbside pickup from Sally's Beauty to get color tube, developer, bowl and applicator brush.
To know how to apply the color, I went to the best resource on the planet--YouTube!
One particularly helpful tip from our YouTube friends was to part your hair in the middle and then section it off into 4 sections. Start with the middle part of your hair first and work your way down, like flipping pages of a book. (I will link a video that helped me.)
To my surprise, I totally enjoyed the whole process once I got going. With my music cranked up, I mixed 1/2 of the color tube with 1/2 developer and mixed it in my mixing bowl.
But before I started applying the color I took my RRB whipped body butter on my index finger and applied it on edge of my skin that meets up with my hairline to keep the color from staining my face. I also put it right in front of my ears.
Here was my process: I parted my hair and sectioned it off, and started applying the color solution. When I finished the top, I started on the sides and then the neckline.
